Join the Silicon Valley Democratic Club for an online discussion August 19th, 2026, at 7pm PT, focused on ICE detention centers, with briefings from two people working on the ground.
Gilroy Detention Center: Rebeca Armendariz will bring us up to date on the organizing and advocacy around the facility in Gilroy: where things stand now, what decisions are still open, and where public pressure matters.
ICE in the East Bay: This section will cover recent enforcement activity and the local response across Alameda and Contra Costa counties.
There will be time for questions, and for talking through what the club and its members can actually do next.
